"The perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken."
-James Dent

The shoot I did for Elle Girl Japan, featuring Gillian Zinser, came out this past June.  It was a story that fused Gillian's own personal eclectic style with some good old fashion denim.  We integrated a lot of her own jewelry and accessories to give the images a more authentic editorial feel...including her adorable little pooch! John and Jayma

"Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction."
-Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I'm so excited to share these images from Capitol File Magazine with you because it was one of the very first shoots I ever worked on.  The issue came out in February, 2011 so I apologize for the delay, but it was actually shot in November last year.  The concept was to capture the budding romance between Jayma Mays' character on Glee and her love interest, Carl Howell, played by John Stamos.  Both John and Jayma were a pleasure to work with, and their chemistry made for some very fun, whimsical pictures.  I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do!

Harper's Bazaar Mexico

"In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer."
-Albert Camus

Last month I had the pleasure of working with photographer, Andrew Stiles and his talented wife, Fiona Stiles, on a shoot for Harper's Bazaar Mexico.  Andrew is an up and coming fashion photographer and Fiona is one of the most talented, well respected make-up artists in the business.  Needless to say I had a blast working with them.

The concept revolved entirely around bathing suit season so we pulled from a variety of swimwear designers, including Cia Maritima, Malia Mills, and Sonia De Mello of SoDeMel Swimwear.

OK Camila

"Fashion is the science of appearances, and it inspires one with the desire to seem rather than to be."
-Edwin Hubbel

I was thrilled when I found out about the shoot for OK magazine to promote Camila's new handbag. It was our goal to create an atmosphere that combined her high fashion sensibilities with a sense of practicality.  Her higher end line is still relatively affordable compared to most designer labels, but they're fun and colorful and if you're style is a little bo-ho chic then you would love them.

For her appearance at Matthew's Lincoln Lawyer premier, we put her in a gorgeous one shoulder Camilla and Marc black satin dress.  It was perfect for the occasion because it wasn't over-the-top. Although movie premiers are technically red-carpet events, they are more casual, so it's customary for celebrities to dress down a bit- especially if it's not their movie.

Eva Longoria Golden Globes

"Beauty is power; a smile is its sword."
-John Ray

You didn't think I was going to let this blog go without posting once in February did you? I sure hope not.  I've had the busiest month of my entire life, and I have so much to share!  So much has happened in the last month since I began working with another stylist.  Her name is Caley Lawson, but I'll get to that later... For now I want to tell you all about the experience I had working with Charlene Roxborough, Eva Longoria's stylist.

I met her through New York based stylist, David Zambrana, who I work with when he's in L.A.  He referred me to Charlene, who called me the day before the Golden Globes asking if there was any way I could help her with Eva's fitting.  I told her I was happy to help with whatever she needed, and I'm glad I did because it was the easiest fitting I've ever had in my life.  She ended up going with the first dress she tried on; a gorgeous black Zac Posen gown that just oozed with award season appeal.  We accessorized with a simple black clutch and diamond stud earrings to create a very old hollywood sense of glamour and she ended up on all the best dressed lists!

Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine

"Getting divorced just because you don't love a man is almost as silly as getting married just because you do."
-Zsa Zsa Gabor

I had the privilege of working on this beautiful wedding story for Grace Ormonde Wedding Style magazine.  It is a very upscale fashion forward magazine that is based out of New Jersey and only comes out once a year.  The shoot took place at a spectacular estate in the Malibu hills, and despite the fact that it was over a hundred degrees that day, the images came out beautiful.  The models were a joy to work with, and there was a plethora of gorgeous gowns to pick from, so I was in heaven!  Being that it was one of my first "on-set" experiences I was like a sponge, trying to absorb every small detail and I feel honored to have been a part of it.

As far as the styling was concerned, we had everything from Vera Wang wedding dresses, to the newest Dior jewelry collection.  We even had an armed guard on set with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of De Beers diamond jewelry.  I was so excited when Brian sent me these images, because the woman whose house we used for the shoot had six chickens clucking about throughout the day and I kept insisting that we use one of them in the story.  I mean seriously, only in Malibu do you find that sort of combination...A spectacular estate with free roaming chickens!  Oh, and the dogs belonged to the home owner as well, which I thought worked splendidly into the script.  All in all, I don't think we could have asked for a better location.
